Associate Butcher, Fulltime
LOCATION: 401 S 1st St New Salem, ND 58563
TITLE: Associate Butcher
HOURS OF OPERATION: Monday- Friday; 7 am- 4 pm.
TYPE OF POSITION: Full-time, Hourly
MAIN DUTIES (may vary based on candidate):
- Harvest/ Slaughter beef, hogs, sheep
- Fabricate whole carcasses into primals and retail cuts
- Cut, trim, bone out retail cuts and trimmings
- Package retail cuts (including paper wrapping and vacuum sealing)
- Grind and stuff trimmings associated with whole carcass meat processing
- Formulation and production of further processed meats, including sausages and cured whole muscle products.
- Daily cleaning, sanitising, assembly, and maintenance of equipment and facility associated with whole carcass meat processing.
- Maintain cold storage organisation and inventory of multiple meat products
- Customer service, including loading bulk meat orders
- Perform daily monitoring and documentation of food safety programs
DESIRED SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
- Self-motivated
- Organized
- Ability to work independently
- Previous experience meat processing (Preferred, not required. Training for all aspects of meat processing will be provided.)
- Ability to lift 50-75# at one time
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
